We’ve talked a little bit about citizen journalism and the role that blogs and bloggers can play in telling little known political stories. One of your fellow first-year students at USC has done a great job with a blog that she is keeping for her ENGL 102 class. She started chronicling her political involvement and made a great post about meeting Bill Clinton and asking him why Hillary hasn’t signed the Darfur Action Proposal. She then has a follow up post about getting a call from the Clinton campaign that the proposal has been signed and she could pick it up. This is a great example of what blogs can accomplish and the personal slant on news and events that they can present. Please take a moment to go congratulate Katherine with a comment on her blog or BETTER YET make a post that links to her post. Give your feedback and commentary on it – what do you think about the issue? what sort of accomplishment is this? After you post, check out the Technorati.com statistics on her blog and this post to see what effect your acknowledgment has had on her blog’s popularity.
